I have no answers to offer, only questions.
When you speak your truth, you do not trade authenticity for acceptance. Many times in working with parents, I am asked, "Why does my child lie?" My answer is this: The lie is leverage of information. We withhold, omit, alter, and falsify the truth because it seems to offer us power in return.
What does truth offers us?
Integrity? That is a moral judgment. My integrity is not your integrity...
Honesty? There is more than one truth. Honesty is not finite.
Reality? Reality is a perception. Tomato/Tomahto...What is a tree to a squirrel?
Clarity? Who's clarity? Can my understanding of a moment in time be affected by my MOOD?
Have you ever told a lie so much it became as real as the truth? If the mind believes it to be true, how is it a lie since lies are defined by the mind?
What is the purpose of the truth? Is it to represent a situation as it is? Is that possible? Can the story be told without any embellishment? Would not the act of manifestation then be a misrepresentation of ourselves to the universe? Does the universe not know our truth?
Does God/Goddess really hate it and punish us when we lie? Didn't he/she know that we were going to do that and why we chose to?
Have you ever been told a lie, but then rather than confronting it, you let the lie speak volumes of truth to you about the teller? Did not the lie tell you the truth?
In the Leap of Faith, Brutal Honesty is a KNOWING of the truth. In fact, the lie does not take place until the TELLING of the truth. When does the truth suffer the liar?
Does not the listener bear responsibility to the authentic HEARING of the truth? The moment you hear a story, your mind sets about quantifying and qualifying the information so that YOU understand it...
Everything has cost and payoff. What is the payoff for YOUR truth? Why do you tell the truth?
What do YOU get from your honesty? How does the truth REALLY serve this world? History was not written from an aspect of truth...eloquence belongs to the conquerors.
Just a little question for your daily meditation Warriors. Why does truth matter?
For that reason...why does living YOUR truth matter?
We've all been told this one simple fact, "The truth hurts". Why is the lie easier?
To your truth,
Aaron
